To save you from the administrative nightmare of processing dozens of $1.00 payouts, Discover Mac Apps allows you to set a Minimum Withdrawal threshold.
By default, every new affiliate program has a minimum withdrawal amount of $50.00.
Setting the Threshold
You can customize this amount at any time:
- Log into your Dashboard.
- Navigate to your app's Affiliate Program.
- Click on the Settings tab.
- Locate the Minimum Withdrawal Amount field and enter your desired amount.
- Click Save.
How it works
When an affiliate earns a commission, it sits in their Pending Earnings.
If your minimum is $50, and their balance is only $30, the "Request Payout" button in their affiliate dashboard will be locked. They will see a progress bar indicating exactly how close they are to reaching the payout threshold.
Once they cross the $50 mark, the button unlocks. They can click Request Payout, which will instantly alert you in your merchant dashboard that a payout is ready to be processed.
[!TIP] We recommend keeping the minimum threshold between $20 to $50. Setting it too high (e.g., $500) can discourage smaller affiliates from promoting your product, as they may feel the goal is unattainable. Setting it too low (e.g., $5) means you will be hit with high transaction fees from your payment processor (like PayPal) relative to the small payout size.
