Integrating with Whop allows you to track affiliate sales for communities, courses, and software licenses sold through the Whop marketplace or Whop checkout links.
1. Getting your Whop API Key
- Go to your Whop Business Dashboard.
- Navigate to Developers > API Keys.
- Create a new API Key with Read access.
- Copy this key and paste it into the Integrations tab on your Discover Mac Apps dashboard.
2. Setting up the Webhook
Unlike some providers where you manually create webhooks, Whop requires you to set up a webhook endpoint to listen to specific events.
- In Whop, go to Developers > Webhooks.
- Create a new endpoint.
- URL: Use the URL provided in your Discover Mac Apps dashboard.
- Events: Select:
payment.succeededmembership.went_active
- Signing Secret: Whop will automatically generate a signing secret for this endpoint. Copy it and save it in your Discover Mac Apps dashboard.
3. Tracking with Whop
If you are sending users to a whop.com checkout page, you must pass the affiliate ID in the URL. Whop natively supports an aff parameter, but to link it to your custom Discover Mac Apps program, you must append our cookie value as a custom field or metadata if you are using the Whop API to create checkout sessions.
If you are just using Whop links natively, it is highly recommended to use our S2S API or ensure your Whop custom tracking pixels are configured correctly.
