Integrating Discover Mac Apps with Dodo Payments allows us to automatically track sales and subscriptions handled by Dodo Payments acting as your Merchant of Record.
1. Creating the Webhook in Dodo Payments
- Log into your Dodo Payments Dashboard.
- Navigate to Developers > Webhooks.
- Click the Create Webhook button.
2. Configuring the Webhook
In the webhook configuration, you need to provide the endpoint URL and select events:
- Webhook URL: Paste the unique webhook URL found in your Discover Mac Apps dashboard (e.g.,
https://discovermacapps.com/api/affiliate/webhooks/dodo). - Events: Select the following events:
payment.succeeded(for one-time purchases)subscription.created(for recurring SaaS)subscription.renewed(for recurring commissions)subscription.updated(for upgrades/downgrades)
3. Saving the Secret
After creating the webhook, Dodo Payments will generate a Webhook Secret (usually starting with whsec_...).
Return to your Discover Mac Apps dashboard, navigate to Integrations > Dodo Payments, and paste this Signing Secret so we can verify the incoming webhook signatures.
How we track Dodo Payments Sales
When a user clicks an affiliate link, our script saves their ID. When they land on your Dodo Payments checkout page, they are on a different domain.
To pass the affiliate ID to Dodo Payments, you must append the metadata[ref] parameter to your Dodo Payments checkout links, reading the value from our dma_aff_ref cookie.
If you are creating payments via the Dodo Payments API, include the affiliate ID in the metadata object of your API request.
