Once your affiliate program is configured and your tracking pixel is live, the next crucial step is acquiring high-quality affiliates who will drive traffic and sales to your app.
Sharing Your Affiliate Portal
When you created your program, Discover Mac Apps automatically generated a dedicated Affiliate Portal for you. This portal serves as the landing page where prospective affiliates can read about your program, view commission rates, and apply to join.
You can find the direct link to your portal in your Dashboard Settings.
Where to share your link:
- Your Website Footer: Add a "Become an Affiliate" or "Partner Program" link to the footer of your website. This is where most influencers and marketers look first.
- Post-Purchase Emails: Your existing customers often make the best affiliates. Include a brief invitation in your onboarding or post-purchase email sequence.
- Social Media & Newsletters: Announce the launch of your program to your existing audience.
The Application Process
Depending on your program settings, you can choose to auto-approve all affiliates or manually review each application.
Auto-Approve (Recommended for Growth)
If you want to rapidly scale your affiliate network, you can enable auto-approval in your dashboard. Any user who signs up via your portal will instantly gain access to their tracking links and can begin promoting your app immediately.
Manual Approval (Recommended for Quality Control)
If you prefer a curated network of high-quality affiliates (e.g., influencers, specific content creators), enable manual approval.
- When an affiliate applies, their application goes into a
Pendingstate. - You will receive a notification.
- You can review their application, their promotional methods, and their website URL.
- Click Approve or Reject from your dashboard.
[!TIP] Even if you use Auto-Approve, you maintain the ability to ban or remove affiliates at any time if you detect fraudulent activity or low-quality traffic.
